macca Posted September 21, 2005 Report Share Posted September 21, 2005 Fire Goby (Nemateleotris magnifica) in a 10g tank?? with 4.5Kg LR, 10Kg LS, heated to 26 Degrees Celsius, SG of 1.022 and a few various shrooms, hermits, 2 oscellaris clowns... what do ppl think? i already have the clowns, and i know it would be bordering on overstocking... but would a fire goby have any probs being in a 10g? they dont seem from what i have read/seen to be a fish that needs huge space to "run" around in.... i am able to feed it with both flakes and live brine shrimp, and the tank id hooded so risk of jumping isnt a prob. cheers... wasp Posted September 21, 2005 Report Share Posted September 21, 2005 Fire Goby will probably be OK, but in an area that small he may become a victim to aggression from the clowns when they get territorial. Been reading about a commercial clownfish breeding operation in the States, they have their breeding pairs in 20 gallon tanks, which they consider minimum size for this.
