One of my minnows seems to be loosing his color...please help...any ideas?

How many do you have again Caper? If I recall correctly it was two or three. It might just be that they're getting a little nervous, fish lose their colouring when they do. See what everyone else thinks.

It can be a sign of stress.

I have 2...that was all I could get.

I searched the net last night...but the faded color was the only thing he was experiencing, well at least that I could see...swimming fine, eating fine!

Looking at him today...he doesn't seem to be as faded as he was last night...so I'll see how he is by this evening.

My minnows seem to lose their colour when I've had the light off for a wee while, and then go back to normal. Go figure. He doesn't look sick from the pic.

They will also lose colour against light substrates or backgrounds as they try to blend in with their surroundings. That is why I rcommend dark gravel as the fish are more colourful.

My minnow isn't quite back to the same color as the other one...but he is no where near as pale as he was the other night.
