Snowman
Sorry to hear about loosing the GBA. I and a mate i sold some to have had the same thing, fish get to mid size, look happy and healthy and then die for no apparent reason, water is mint and all other occupants happy as larry. I chalked it up as another mystery of fish keeping, i'm starting to think every tank has a "Bermuda Triangle" in it at some stage of its life in which unexpalinable things happen. rnbo
Sorry about your GBA I had a similar thing happen with one of my lovely males a few weeks back Doesnt seem to be any rhyme nor reason to it! Fishkeeping certainly has its ups and downs!
Faran
Bermuda triangle.... yeah, I think one of my tanks has that. Put in 4 fish and the next day there's only 3... put in 8 fish and a month later there's only 7 (even though I counted them just a few days ago). Do syno cats eat fish? Most fish in that tankare bottom feeders so any carcasses would last only a matter of minutes.... question is, why would they die in the first place? Sorry for your loss, Paul! misnoma
Do syno cats eat fish? Yes.. they like chasing em too at night.
Faran
Then I'm at a loss for what is getting the fish in that tank. Bu the way, the barbs under Yo-Yo laches eyes... can they scrape/slash otehr fish with them? I often see the yoyos "playing" with other fish which I was led to believe was actually checking for parasites, but upon inspection of some WCMMs I pulled from that tank to give to a new owner I found that the largest male had some odd "gashes" on one side of his body.... Snowman
The only thing in with mine was more GBA's and again not a mark on it. I have yo-yos and they are quite peacefull as are the striatas. It's the queens, angelicious and zodiac loaches that are the trouble makers. I have a sneaking suspicion a zodiac is responsible for 1 dead swordtail and 1 one eyed swordtail.
