Gretal
Can't believe how wonderful this site is. I currently have 3 tanks, with just goldfish. Have had 1 tank for a few years, then recently got the other 2. Um, not sure how many litres lol, but I have 1 octagonal tank (just cause I like the look), and a couple of "normal" one's. Years ago my family had tropicals, and have been thinking lately I'd like to convert my bigger normal tank to tropicals. *But* I'm abit slack with the proper fish tlc. My goldfish are hardly, and have to be as I'm one of those people who just bung them in and hope for the best! So I'm having a good read up here before venturing into any tropicals as they're more expensive and don't want to waste money! Unsure just yet what sort of fish to even get! Just want something colourful to look at. We have a very good local pet store who seem very knowledgable about fish, and also one in Palmi that is very good, so plenty of advice when I need it. Don't think my partner is as enthused about fish as I am
Caper
Hi Gretal! Welcome to this site...I bought my first tank in March. The folks here are just wonderful! I have a 10 gallon with 1 calico fantail (Puff) and 1 comet I think (looking at net that's what is is) & his name is Sam. I also have a 29 gallon with tropicals. Well it seems you already have MTS and as far as your partner goes...well, you'll have to check with the more experienced folks here...I don't know if it is contagious

Snowman
Hi Gretal, the secret is when you go to buy your fish ask your b/f to pick one for himself as i'm sure when he has a fish of his own he will be more enthused. Good luck converting to tropicals : -)>
Gretal
We just went to have a quick look at fish and birds I made a point of pointing out different fish to him and trying to get him enthused hehe. He seemed to like the neon tetras. Also, he was interested in the marine tanks with its nemo lookalikes. They have a marine tank set up at work, but it sounds an awful lot of work! Didn't buy anything as its not payday and I'm abit poor, but was quietly checking out more ornaments and fish for my next tank
