shiuh
3 Days 6 Days Approximate growth rates of the Guppy. Please keep in mind that this will vary according to care (especially feeding), and genetics. However, I have included this for general reference. Please note that females may grow much larger than the males. Male Body length not including tails. New born: 6 mm One Week: 7 mm Two Weeks: 1 cm One month: 1.5 cm Two months: 2 cm Three months: 2.5 cm Six months: 3 - 3.3 cm Full grown: 3.5 - 4 cm this is a information that i found on the internet. did anyone keep a record of the new born fry growth? i have, but i have found the info is not quite relevant to mine. my 2 weeks old guppy is at 2.9cm (not including tail) can anyone share their record for me to compare? many thanks!! (Without tail).. mmmmm... Assuming you are talking about Delta males.. then on the 10/10 basis.. (tail equal to body length).. this would make your fish 48.2mm long at TWO WEEKS..? The fully grown "standard" male guppy (according to the WGA).. only has a "body length" of 26mm. Not disputing your facts here.. but would love to see a pic of your two week olds against any of your adult guppies. Bill.
shiuh
youre right Bill, i have got it wrong. apparently i have read 5mm as 1cm on the labelless ruler. so mine now only read 1.4cm. sorry! i knew something was wrong there!
pearlyred
Wow thats pretty big after two weeks. What is it you're feeding them, BBS? We have some guppies that are also two weeks old and they are nowhere near that size yet. Apart from BBS what other foods would you guys recommend for feeding young livebearers? cheers lee
livebearer_breeder
More BBS, Mircoworms in the moring, BBS at night, Clean the tank afterwards, and reapeat for a couple of months and they will be adult fish. Shae
Alan
I have heard it said that if the fish room is running East - West Every time you go west past the tank, feed it, Every time you go east past the tank give it a water change. I presume you'd do that trip several times a day. Good growing on tho. Alan
shiuh
i only fed them BBS ocassionally some microworms if i run out of BBS. about 8 times day with only 25% water change per week. did not increase the temperature though. i will try 5% water change daily see if theres any improvement. i presume with Show Guppies you will get larger babies though?
