Interfecus
I just started keeping fish myself 1 1/2 months ago but have had fish around the home since childhood. I have 2 10g tanks (both freshwater) and keep 1 male siamese fighter, 2 female SFs, 1 male guppy, 2 females, 1 plecostamus, 5 neon tetras, and about 20 guppy fry. Goldie
hI YA Welcome to the fishy forum. Sounds like a good start. I also began with guppies. Surely they are the rabbits of the fishy world. What colours are yours??? I have just had spawning of a gold male over a gold female and blue female. Around 25 / 35 fry survived the parents. They are doing well. Again welcome

Interfecus
Pegasus: Yes, I'm going to breed them. I first decided to launch into aquaria 1 1/2 months ago on visiting some websites about breeding bettas. The male guppy is yellow with quite a bit of black giving him a look quite like a flame. The females are both yellow as well, but with different levels of patterning. The male siamese fighter is red except for a blue/green smudge on his back and blue stripes between his tail rays. One female is red/blue, the red starting at the head and fading into blue down until the end of the tail. The other female is red with blue/green between her tail rays. The 'plecostamus' is, of course, speckled brown. I'll get pictures of them ASAP, when I can borrow my dad's digital camera.
Pegasus
Sounds great Interfecus, you may even consider making a Betta Condo as in the Anabantoid section. I did have a few selective Guppies coming along, among which is a buttercup coloured female, plus I did have some nice males that I hoped to rear on, but my good wife decided to empty my stocks while I was having forty winks. They were sold off, so I'll be keeping tight tabs on the next batch that drops I still have the Buttercup, and hope it produces some decent fry. Regards, Bill (Pegasus)
Goldie
uh oh Pegasus. Did your wife happen to sell them to Brooklands?? For I purchased some from work (bought from Brooklands) a few months ago October. They were rather nice specimans and as I had not seen any buttercup ones I bought a male and female, as well as two of the blue tailed females. These went to a guppy breeder in the Marlborough Club and the resulting fry and now growing in my tank Around 25 - 35 survived the adult guppies and all are growing well. Pegasus
Hi Goldie, No.... Not to Brooklands. Out of several hundred fry, this one "buttercup" stood out from the rest, and fortunately my wife missed it, so I am waiting for some results from it. It's only around 25mm at the mo, but is gravid. I intend to clean it out and find a decent male for it..... who knows HE HE. Whisper..... We should be really in the livebearers section. Sorry Interfecus for interupting your welcome thread
