mistymu05
on sunday nite i lost my breeding female fighter - she was fine one moment and then i noticed her rubbing herself against the stones on the bottom of the tank and swimming upside down and generally acting strange = she went down hill so quickly that there was nothing i could do for her and within 15 min was dead - scales fine - not pineconeing or anything like that = the other fish in the tank are fine and so far doin a-ok i was a little annoyed as i was plannin on breeding from her in the next few weeks and had started the process of getting her all ready now i have to wait for either my females to mature or for an adult to come in at the LFS
Staplez
Bugga, I hope the rest of your fish do fine. I bought a betta in the weekend he's a brilliant turquoise. BUT he has white spot, which I’m not to worried about because it’s very mild. I did know that he had white spot when I purchased him, and I was willing to buy him because he looked so damn good. I’ve never heard of a death like the one yours had, It would be a lot better understanding it. Hopefully somebody here has an answer. Dawn
A few nights ago one of my Gold Gouramies starting doing the same sort of thing - I only noticed because she was headbutting the thermometer which would then clink against the glass of the tank! She constantly did it all night - then I noticed the other fish - mainly the two Swordfish - were pecking at her, not just chasing but actually pecking at her skin/scales parts of which were staring to turn red. She didn't have the energy to chase them away so I rescued her, put her into a breeding cage, and dropped a few drops of Antiseptic straight onto the red parts of her body - I did this twice and then yesterday let her out and she seems fine once again.
