raeh1
I have had my tang for above 1 .5 months. He/or she has started to attack the glass when i'm watching it. He looks pretty angry. All tank occupations are in good health so I think its bahaviour issues as all his fins are up and he is in excellent condition. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Control
It sounds to me, that he knows where his food comes from. If you feed your tank try feeding it.
dhindry
My Hippo tang does the same thing. I have watched closely and it is usually eating the tiny diatobys on the glass. It looks like it is banging itself against the glass, where it is merely chasing the little bugs.

Aquatopia
Hi I saw a video by an ozzie guy and he reckoned that if you feed tangs too much protein based food (esp bloodworm), then they get real agressive. But you arent feeding bloodworm and i dont know the protein content of what you are feeding. Have you tried feeding less of what you are and increased vege content food - like dried seaweed or lettuce etc? There is also the possibility that the room lighting is creating a mirror effect from within the tank - and it may then be that the tang is attacking what it thinks is another tang? Just thoughts - prob not the case, but hey - all thoughts help (i hope).
JoeBlog
My yellow tang did this for about the first 3 months that I had him. Any time I got close to the tank, he would start flicking his spine against the glass. I just thought he didn't like me much. He has since settled down. He still cruises up to the glass every time I approach, but now with a much more friendly demeanor. Steve
