Trelize
I ended up with a "spare" section in my new sump due to my bad calculations and am planning on filling it with 30ppi Poret filter squares and was also considering plants ? Does any know which plants would be suitable for this purpose ? reducing nitrates etc. Thanks ! :fshi:
David R
If you want plants for reducing nitrates then your best option is Pothos; viewtopic.php?f=4&t=65309 You could grow them in your sump, you'd just need to provide some light for them (I grow mine under an 8W energy saver). calculator
Definitely recommend pothos, or peace lilly as plants to suck up nitrates, they are really good at it. They do need some light, but do grow in low light settings. Although in low light variagated varieties lose all there white stripes.
