aotealotl
Is there a fish available which will survive below 18° (12° to 16°) and will tidy up the tank bottom to get rid of any food left overs ? Need some cleaners for my WCMM and Danio adult tanks. This tanks are just the 'waiting hall' for the little fish before they can go on holiday to the Axolotl tanks. All the usual suspects have a lowest recommended water temperature of 18°. (Cleaning fish for the fish tanks not the Axolotl tanks, don't get me wrong). Or is my only option a couple of snails to clean up ? thanks
Sophia
You can get bristlenoses acclimatised for non heated water, but snails are probably the easiest, or maybe feed a bit less so it all gets eaten.
kinnadian
Some of the borneo suckers can be OK down to 15 degrees, but much lower than that and you risk death.
SanityChelle
The borneo suckers just eat these little creatures in algae, they don't actually clean up anything. I've found just a decent gravel vac once a week works fine. Or plant it up like crazy.
