tessgirl
So I aquired a black ghost knife fish. Got him 2 days ago and by the time we got home he was up at the surface in the bucket gasping for air. I noticed alot of his "skin" is missing patches. He is in a quarantine tank at present, he is still eating, but he is just lying on his side barely moving at all. He is still alive though. All water parameters are fine. I think the travel was too much for him, and he was definitely oxygen deprived by the time we got home. Any suggestions on how to help this guy out? And if I should be treating the missing skin, if so with what? Thanks heaps.
F15hguy
sounds like a nasty trip, must have had horrible water to affect him that bad though, I would keep him in a well airated tank with pristine water, that should be enough to bring him round. keep a very close eye on his ammonia levels and keep nitrate to a minimum.
