caserole
Hi Shiuh, the gold panchax is very easy to sex and a delight to keep. the males are a stuning greeny gold with pointed tips on the dorsel and anal fins. were as the female is grey with a very lite irradesent bronze sheen to her and rounded fins. they are very easy to breed the hardest part is getting enough food into them as they are PIGS . when my lineatus are properly condtioned i can get 50 eggs per female a day no trouble at all. you wont have any problem seeing the eggs as they are very large. the only thing you must watch ,is small fish in there tank, neons and alike in a blink of an eye they become breakfast !. Aplicheilus lineatus is an excellent killie to start with. good luck.
shiuh
thanks for your advice caserole... what size does a female have to get till they start getting babies? and how many do you have to keep when you start breeding them? how long does it take for the eggs to hatch? caserole
you know i'm not sure i don't try to breed my young fish . I get more eggs from the big ones. I would think 40 to 50mm at a gess, but the eggs will be small to begin with and in low numbers All you need is two before you start breeding 1 male and 1 female  how long does it takes for the eggs to hatch, it depends on the temp ruffle 10 to 14 days
