Luke*
Hey all, was wondering if it is a major problem to have 1cm either side of the length of the tank hanging off the edge of the stand. I'm looking at buying just a tank and it's 2cm too wide for the stand. Is it better to get a board to put underneath that supports the whole thing or doesn't it really matter? Tank would be 60cm tall. Cheers
Alan
Doesn't really matter. Maybe need to protect the overhang from damage from bumps etc. But support, no. Not IMHO. But make sure you have a packing of polystyrene sheeting, under the tank to act as insulation and as a self leveler to take out any 'hard patches'. misnoma
for the cost of a sheet of customwood to sit between the stand and the sheet of polystyrene (maybe $20-$30max for 18mm) I would get a sheet - keeps things looking tidier imo
