kingmatherz
Hi Guys Hoping someone can help me. I have a 270L tank which is about 1.2m long. It has a big lid at the top with 2 long fluroscent lights. 1 stopped going (wasnt the bulb as tried to replace that). The other one goes now and then, basically when it feels like it. At one stage both did go. Where could I take this to get fixed? Anywhere in the Wellington region would be awesome, otherwise if I had to try send it I would but would much prefer somewhere in Wellington or outer areas (I live in Porirua, work in Wellington CBD). Cheers all
SamH
Call your local lighting shop and ask if they do fluorescent light fitting repairs. It's probably the starter, they're cheap as chips to replace.
RUNAS
Hi, Have you replaced the starters? normally located by the ballast, but if they are the newer T5 tubes (about as thick as your lil pinky) then they will be on eletronic balasts with no starters. If it does has starters its just a half turn and they come out, easy peasy. go to a local electrial wholesaler and get some more, couple bucks each. Hope this helps RUNAS
smidey
as above it will be the starter. I had a sunsun tank with t5 bulbs which run off an electronic starter do the same thing, a sparkie mate put a new ballast in it and all good.
