Godly3vil
Hey guys I have recently purchased a few discus and with them is a large pair, they have laid eggs before for the previous owner and have only been in my tank for 3 days and are already showing signs of wanting to spawn again. They are guarding the filter inlet pipe and cleaning it constantly. What size tank should I put them in to breed and raise the fry (hopefully)? They are around 10-12cm each so quite large. What should I feed them before and during spawning? How often should I be doing water changes once they are spawning? What is the best temp to keep them at, still around 29c? There is probably more stuff I will ask about but that should do for now. Cheers.
myfishybuisness
I found a 2ft x2ftx ft was a good size because the fry somtimes get lost in larger tanks , but it has enough water capasity and as discus are deep fish the depth is great. Also found that mine didnt like being on the bottom tanks in my breeding stand so have them up off the floor

Tank size: 60x45x45, 50 cube tank Feeding: As per normal daily feeding of bloodworm, colorbit Water change: I normally let the fry go free swimming before doing any waterchange. Having a mature sponge filter in the tank is good. Temp: 28-30 degree Having brineshrimp eggs on hand to hatch for feeding fry. Ron
