Insectile
Hey there i have a mate who is wanting to setup a tank and put a glass divider in to have two separate tanks. He wants to have cold water on one side and tropical on the other, but i told him that the warmer temp may affect the cold side and i thought i better check here and see what every one said before he made a final decision. will it work? :dunno: cheers Matt
F15hguy
the coldwater side will suck out the heat from the tropical side unless there is some form of insulation between. would be easier to get 2 tanks and put them side by side with a layer of foam in between
Insectile
alright. he is bidding on a tank on trademe, would two pieces of glass and layer of glass between the work? Cheers Matt

F15hguy
maybe, you will still get some heat transfer, so he should increase the heater size. seems like a pointless mission to me, :dunno: but each to their own (plus im bad for trying things that ive been told are not possible hence the 21L marine tank at home)
