F15hguy
I reacently 'Inherited' a 400L Community tank that uses Aqua one blacki silica sand as a substrate. I have been having some troubles with this and was wondering if anyone else has had similar experience. I have lost 2 large bristlenose and 1 20cm long albino pleco due to them ingesting the sand which cuts up their insides. also I regularly get diatom blooms which In my experience is caused by excess silicates in the water. and my plant growth seems VERY slow (except for 3 cryptocoryne wendtii) I am planning on changing back to regular gravel but would be interested to see if I'm the only one having problems before condemning this product ( it does look cool)
