Life on the inside, Macrofauna of the biofilter

I went to rinse out the filter wool in my cf1200 and placed the first tray with coarse sponge/fine sponge/wool on the top of the chiller. I then went and hosed it out and rinsed the fine sponge and put the try back into the filter and glanced down to where I had left the tray to see the small puddle of water teaming with life:
