zeebee
Hi everyone! So im wanting hair grass to grow in clumps like how you buy it from the lfs. Does anyone know how to do this and be able to share your tips? My thoughts were to maybe put a runner in a small pot.. :dunno:
CodKing
If you restrict the roots from spreading outwards, use a plastic ring, a pot, nylon stocking etc this should create a nice looking clump. Not sure how the plant will do long term though. Have done this with plenty of terrestrial plants and they need repotting every couple of seasons, should be a similar outcome with aquatic. I'm sure someone will chime in...
Squirt
The LFS has pottles with the holes in them. Maybe an idea?
alanmin4304
Commercialy it is grown emersed and will grow very dense in natural light. If you submerse it like that it will usually die off through lack of food and light.
zeebee
So if i grew it emersed, would the roots need to be submerged?
alanmin4304
You can grow it emersed in a bell jar setup or in a glasshouse or out in the open over summer. You just need to keep the roots very damp.
