fishy-fish
My best guess is stuartgranti maleri based on internet images
rcon021
It looks like a stuartgranti male and 90% sure it's a stuartgranti female aswell. But I don't know if it goes with the female.

Tropheus
Male-Stuartgranti Marleri Female-??????????????????????????????????? Where you get them from?
fishy-fish
Male-Stuartgranti Marleri Female-??????????????????????????????????? Where you get them from? From Lake Malawi of course :slfg: Seriously though, I bought a complete set up about 8-9mths ago that came with 40 adult africans. When I got them, the male hadn't coloured up. The previous owner had listed them as sunshine peacocks which is most typically maleri but also used as a junk draw catagory given to all sorts of aulonocara. I wondered if the females were jacobfreybergi?
rcon021
No the female is not a jacobfreybergi because it doesn't have the bump on the head and the red/orange line on the dorsal is not a jacobfreybergi characteristic. Jacobs are also more elongated than other peacocks. This is a Jacob female

ryanjury
If you don't know what they are or where they came from then you will never know there are so many hybrid peacocks out there. The guy could have got the male from somewhere and the females from somewhere else, people regularly buy a male "peacock" and then buy random females from stores match them and breed them so it is almost impossible to know. I can tell you they are not jacob females as well, they are one of the few peacock females you can have a rough guess at, although I wouldn't be confident on 100% iding any female peacock. fishy-fish
Cool pics, how does the Johanni get along with the dems? Pretty well. The johanni is definitely dominant and will give chase and lay down the law every now and then but he doesn't do any damage. He has HEAPS of personality! Def my fav fish
