emaytiti
My female beardie is digging like crazy again! I'm thinking about putting her in another tank with just the laying medium. Whats best?
alanmin4304
Moist vermiculite is good for holding the moisture or vermiculite/sand mix.

emaytiti
Went out this morning and got some #1 sand seems to be working okay at the moment. For soil - is any potting mix of for beardies?
alanmin4304
Potting mix usually contains fertilizers and might be best not used I think

alanmin4304
I have never used it but peat might be OK. As stated earlier, good old garden soil might be the cheapest and easiest. Mine usually lay in the sand on the bottom of their enclosure but the eggs will dry out really quickly so you need to keep a close eye on them so you can remove them straight away. They usually spend a few days scratching in every corner they can get to before they actually lay.
emaytiti
Scratch this post, she is laying as we speak. So far I reakon there must be around 20 eggs! Will take pics when removing to get feedback on them.

repto
don`t know about the `nice and round` he mentioned, but I go by the colour more, being nice and white like a button mushroom? My eggs were always the same basic shape as yours like a big jellybean. One or two I can see towards the corners of the containers look ,,,maybe ok???Give her a good feed up on calcium as well.egg laying drags it out of them, and some of your eggs look abit uneven shellwise just by whay I can see from the pics?? alanmin4304
I would say that they are not obviously no good and worth hanging on to to see what happens. Throw out any that start to look no good and just wait. Make sure you have plenty of live food ready in case.
Insect Direct
I wouldn't hold my breath on the above. Still keep them as Alan said. Were they dented like that when you first dug them up?

Were they dented like that when you first dug them up? Nope they weren't solid when lifting them out. They were only just laid when I was removing them. Insect Direct
good eggs should be more plump, and white imo. if dents appear after you dig them up then could just be dehydrated. add a little bit more water to container etc.

Yeah lets hope. Yeah some of them are. This is the third clutch shes laid and this lot has looked the best, maybe because I removed her from the tank :dunno: The other two clutches were no good. I also think maybe the male is not doing his job right either lol. Got a new male last week so hopefully if this doesn't turn out he will have a go.
