You should be looking for a modern house with a concrete floor :)

I am not sure if a wooden floor would handle that weight, there are plenty of other threads on the matter I just searched for wooden floor and you will find tons, you will just need to sift though them to figure out which ones are relevant..

Also tons on google

End of the day if you are not sure get a builder/engineer to jump under the house and have a look and get it reinforced if needed..

looks like the weight will be about 950kg. 1 litre of water is 1 kg.

also ring your insurance company and see if your contents will cover any damages caused by fish tanks. Im with state and they said that they will repair my rental house if a tank falls through the floor.

Ive just done calculations of my 700ltr tank weight full of water, gravel, rocks etc, glass, stand, sump. I forget the weight exactly now (ive got it written down at home) and I also worked out the kPa/m2 to make sure my floor would take the loading. Ive had to add extra blocking between, and supports below the floor joists.

I suggest finding a place with a concrete floor, it will be a lot easier than working under a house putting in extra supports.

Not sure where you got that from, the tank is more like 1170 litres. The actual volume will be a bit less, but the total weight will be a lot more. A tank that tall should be made of at least 12mm glass so will probably weigh close to 200kg empty, plus the weight of the stand.

Not all timber floors are created equally, its not impossible but I certainly wouldn't just plonk it anywhere and hope for the best. You need to get under the house and see what the subfloor is like and which way the joists run. Choose a location where it will be well supported, reinforce if necessary, and make sure it is running across as many joists as possible (not in the same direction as them). The stand also needs to be designed to distribute the weight over as large a footprint as possible, and not just put it all on 6-8 'feet'.

And its probably a good idea to check with your landlord before doing this....
