waterlogged
I have the sinking idea in the back of my head to sell all my com. fish and try a small monster fish tank but I really like my panda coryies lol. are there any smaller species of sens that wouldn't/ be less likely to swallow my pandas? was thinking maybe a few sens, plecs, a few large SA cichlids and maybe some large tetras/barbs. also is it possible to do something like this in a 445L? more so for the cichlids and sens
David R
I wouldn't risk bichirs with the smaller cory species, could end up losing both fish if the bichir tried to swallow the cory and it got stuck. I'd be inclined to try uaru with corys, and maybe "jurupari" if you way larger fish with the corys, but stay away from predatory things like bichirs. waterlogged
probably just do a smaller one for a few pandas then. didn't think it would work. would angels do ok with sens, uaru or jurupar? really just brainstorming atm
Fruju
Depends how big the cories are. I think if you have cories 3-4cm or larger you would be safe from all the bichirs except for the ornates. Thats my experience anyway, I had a bronze one in with some sens and stuff, he lived until the jardini thought he looked tasty :an!gry
David R
Generally bichirs won't bother anything that looks too large to eat, so mature angels would be fine with all the bichirs we get bar ornate.
Fruju
Yeah, and the armour on corys will be unappealling.
waterlogged
thanks guys I'm still not sure what I want to do with this tank. would it be any less work to have just larger fish with less plants?
Fruju
How do you mean? Plants will grow all the same obviously, some larger fish species will uproot some plants. I have usually had no issues with plants with my bichirs, flagtail, ebjds if thats any help.
