critter_crazy
Went for a shopping spree at Hollywoods today and came back with an L140, a pair of kribs, 5 Harlequins and 5 Dwarf Chain Loaches :happy2: Here's a few photos! I'm so glad I got the loaches, Sophias right, they've got real little personalities
Sophia
Cool. They like the current too. Do they come up to the top to feed? oh and you see how the loaches are plump and slug shaped? If you get one that looks more like a snake than a fat slug then it might need to be wormed. One of my skinny ones died but the other is getting more sluggy. Sophia
CC is this your 165L tank? if not, which one is it?
critter_crazy
Thanks Joe! Never thought any of my tanks would be !drool: worthy  Yeap, this is the 165L. They've been digging around hunting baby snails and they nibble on the nurafin tablets I feed my other bottom dwellers, very cute! What do you feed your Sophia? After hearing about your poor loach passing I was super careful to pick nice plump ones, allthough they all looked nice and healthy I'm not sure if I'll keep them in this tank, they get kinda lost so I'm tempted to move them to my 34L in a few weeks. Will they be more comfortable in a smaller tank?
Sophia
nah don't move them just get more of them! You could get quite a few in there and the more you have the more active they are and won't hide too much. Or if you do put them in a smaller tank try them with sand and see them flicking around like muppet snakes at dinner time. Mine get live food a few times a week - various worms and larvae from my bug pond, microworms, snails from the snailery. Other times they get thawed bloodworm and brine shrimp and dried foods: brineshrimp, flake, tiny fish food that I soak and fire in with a dropper or float it on the top, and shrimp pellets and hikari sinking wafers. During the working week they get a light snack when I get home, or a larger dinner. Then later in the evening I put a shrimp pellet or half a wafer for them. On the weekend I harvest the bug pond so they get food at different times of day. I try to mix it up and give different quantities or sometimes fast them occasionally.
