chopper
Was pretty good episode made me laugh a little though due to its sensationalism. I have been bitten by big longfinned eels dozens of times their bite is very week and only draws a little blood. Feels like two metal files getting hold of you and pulling back, barely grazes the skin. Good show though I enjoy Jeremy Wade, he had an earlier series called Jungle Hooks as well if you are interested.
amtiskaw
Haha, "Flesh Rippers", "...like a pack of wolves", "...marauding eels" I always wondered how much this guy played things up for ratings. :slfg: Still, interesting and entertaining, thanks for the links

amtiskaw
We used to gut them then wrap 'em in tin foil and chuck them in the camp fire embers for a nice feed. Never had problems with the blood. Getting the slime off your hands was the worst thing

si_sphinx
Im from Manapouri where most of this was filmed and there truly is some massive eels in that lake. And they do swarm in the 10s of 100s. I put a back end of a stag in a creek once and they were everywhere within a few hours. Ive never been bitten before though, they were always scared of me. We use to chase them in the water as kids when we swam at the beach. Thanks for posting that. It was very interesting.
