Recommended Posts

Hi I'm getting some moss tonight and want to make a ball out of it. Any ideas? I was thinking of something like a round rugged rock and attach moss to it. And I Aldo want to make a carpet out of it. Same thing any ideas? I have seen heaps or people want java moss to float. And twas thinkig if you attached it to a piece if pumice it would float. Oh well just looking for neat ideas on things to do with java moss.

Thanks  :D

Huh that sounds neat! I actually have a ton of moss. I would like to make a carpet but I don't have any slate to attach it to. So would there be any substitutes? Still lookin for neat things to make with it :D

Thanks

Maybe some stainless mesh? I know it's not the best option to have metal in the tank but if you're going to have any it might as well be stainless :) The trick would be to find the right model of stainless (the number relates to the type of stainless it is) and maybe match the type to the stainless heaters/heater covers that are out there as they clearly work fine in aquariums.

I have a sand substrate. I normally meet my mate at the river in the morning so will look for some flat rocks. I might make a moss cave as well could you make this put of stones too? Or would a 1/2 plant pot be better?

Thanks

If you are covering stones you could use that plastic net they make those shower scrubbers with. I did that with riccia after seeing one of SamH or Fordazybro's posts but couldn't wait for it to grow and gave up.

The bags that oranges and mandarins come in could do the trick.

I got some of that. I was going to use it for breeding danios bit that never took off. So rocks? I might see if the hardware stores have slate. And a pot for the cave? I'm lookin for a larger one so my turtle can hide if he wants.
