wsun013
I would like to know where I could find some creeks which have freshwater shrimps in Auckland, or more precisely, Northshore. Aint looking for koura, but those transparent ones which eats algae. I have a 400L tank and looking for 30ish to throw them in to do the work. Sophia
Meola Creek behind the zoo, drag your net in the weeds and you will get some shrimp. Or I did anyway. Not North Shore though unless you compare to Invercargill though :smln:
wsun013
but it is a reserve.....
Sophia
I think that's just what NZers call a park. I don't think it's a reserve like a marine reserve where you cannot fish??? :dunno:
Fruju
Spot just behind Albany senior high school has some, can't remember name of the creek, easy to spot its under a bridge.
ryanjury
Used to get some from a lake over on the shore many years ago but I can't for the life of me remember where it is or what it was called, went down at night with a net and caught bucket loads of them to feed to my africans.. Should really go for a drive and see if I can remember where it was..

Oteha Valley has a good few, could give you a hand getting some if you wanted? Lucas on the other side of the village is good to.
