Moving Time! Need advice!

We are moving house.

So will be moving the fish tank over.

We have a moderately heavy planted tank.

The plants have been in there around a year, will it damage the plants removing them? I would imagine the root system would be rather developed by now?

I was thinking of either draining the tank and moving it with all gravel and plants,

Or removing the gravel and plants then re planting once the tank is relocated.

The first option might not be doable, since it might make the tank to heavy.

As for the fish, we are going to setup a temp tank at the new place with 50% current tank water, then move the fish across, then the big tank, then do a swap.

Any suggestions on what we should do with the plants and gravel?

Cheers

when i moved i moved the fish with the tank in a large chilly bin, just make sure you add an airstone when you get there & they will be fine.

i also moved my tanks with the substrate in them but drained the water i could so it weighed less. the substrate won't dry out in that time so the plants will be fine.
