danilada
I have a 200-an something litre Electric Yellow only tank, have between 12-15 yellows, beautiful tank of crushed coral at the bottom, built with limestone and dolomite rocks, mature tank of about three years old. But no matter where in the house the tank is moved to, it is prone to green glass alage - so I have to bite the bullet (no, not clean it every day!) but get a algae eater in there to help them out! The problem is I am so darn picky! I have only selected the best looking and healthy yellows for this tank, and the tank is spotless looking, I don't really want to put in some-thing that will 'clash' with my colours (typical girl!) any-way I was thinking maybe a golden apple snail, never had snails before, so would it eat the algae and live peacefully in the tank? Bristlenose & Golden Algae Eaters are out of the question, so it leaves a flying fox maybe? What is your thoughts?
smidey
GAE are brilliant for keeping the tank clean once they are bigger, only thing is i found they interfere with the fish breeding. the one i had in a 200L tank kept it sparkling once it reached around 8cm or so which didn't take long at all & they seemed to like the african food to. See I have had GAE and had nothing but problems with them, they grow so fast that they move from sucking the algae to sucking the actual fish! I gave away my last one to the petshop recently, it got to 17cms!
ryanjury
I wish a GAE good luck catching and latching onto an electric yellow Why not use a GBA or albino GBA in there?
