oscnz Posted October 2, 2010 Report Share Posted October 2, 2010 Hay guys my pepper catfish in my puffer tank spawned last night, I managed to get about 8 eggs and put them in a breeder in my main tank. Jatt16 Posted October 3, 2010 Report Share Posted October 3, 2010 Hi Usually when the eggs go white in a few hours it is a sign that they are infertile. There is usually no fungus on the outside until the egg starts to break down, and bacteria sets in. It could also be that the eggs had no airflow over them as they need constant movement across the eggs. But if it was this you would have fungus on the outside as well . I would wait for a day if there is fungus on the outside you should remove them. Meth Blue also helps prevent fungus on cory eggs, i have tried this many times and it does work. If this was their first spawn this is what normally happens with young cory. But after they get some practice you'll get hundreds of eggs.
