Been playing around with my camera and thought i'd share some of my pics

Young wild kribs

They seem to be showing lots of variety in their colours/patterns

My wild kribs aren't as good as posing as the apistos are:

At the moment i'm just using a canon power shot camera, but for my next birthday i'm getting a much better camera 8)

NIce pics of nice fish

the parents of these fish looked very much the same but threw a bit of variety in the offspring by looking at the various fish that are around.

that is why we have taken to calling them wild kribs or P taenatus (sp) tank bred.

Nice fish all the same and not your good ol fashion kribs

As Nav has said the kribs do show some variation in colour. The mother of these fish was imported as a "nigerian red" and the father was imported as a "moliwe". I noticed this variation when I got them and asked a question on a dwarf cichlid forum and a guy that has collected and catalogued these from the wild commented and said neither nigerian red or moliwe was correct however they were pure Pelvicachromis taeniatus and to breed the fish with the most desirable traits together and call them Pelvicachromis taeniatus "tank strain". Also the fry will show variation based on dominance etc.

Some of the moliwe I got direct from you had the red check stripe too, so that is very variable too.. But from research that is fairly common
