Ymir
Heya people. We are doing some reno's on our house and we lifted some carpet to expose the wooden rimu floor boards beneath. However, the annoying carpet underlay does not want to come up and alot is stuck on the wood still. Any ideas on how to get rid of it without damaging or staining the wood would be appreicated. Allister_B
heat gun/ hair dryer maybe, cud try slowly heating the underlay and pealing it back trying not to get hot spots on wood or light underlay on fire.... if u lift up the edge of the under lay and work along it slowly, i have used this method for removing all sorts of adhesive products from things, signwriting etc, sounds like the underlay is just old and the old rubber has fused onto the wood. ps if all else fails, just rip and sand/varnish haha
