caroldaisy3
My 120litre tank has white silica sand on the bottom. About 3-4 days after the tank has been cleaned and the sand stirred up brown patches which I assume are a type of algae appear. Does anyone know why it is happening and what can be done about it please.

It's common in just about all tanks.

BikBok
otos are cute little guys, peaceful and great algae eaters. get a group of 3 or more and they'll always be munching away at visible and hidden algae.
foamy
Yes get yourself a group of otocinclus:) they are small and also small bioload and a crew of them is like cleaner and they will be munching all over your tank searching for algae and diatoms:) I recommend getting at least a group 3 or more prefer 6 so they can school together.
