kitten bit power cord of my filter

Yip, she's a very sweet little terror :evil: . One of my fluval 404's has just stoped working and on inspection, there appears to be teeth marks on the power cord.

Is this fixable and if so does anyone know someone who could do it??

it is fixable but you'll have to be more careful from now on. electricity and water mix far too well.

Unplug the filter, cut the wire cleanly, join the wire together properly and use heat shrink wrap to seal it.

if in doubt get someone who knows what to do to fix it. do not take a chance.

Not 100% sure, but was working, now is not. Unplugged it from multi box, plugged straight into wall..and nothing. Typical, if she'd done one of the heaters or anything less expensive, i'd just replace it.

I wouldn't try and cut them and heatshrink them that is just dodgy the heatshrink wont have the same insulating properties as the insulation and also won't seal it up properly around water also ideally you should do an insulation resistance test on any repairs like that..

How far down the cable is it? Can you just chop it where it is damaged and put a new plug on the end?

Awesome, I would still have a good look at your power cord if it is damaged though, while it wont make the filter stop it might cause issues if it gets wet and someone handles it or your kitten has another go at it.
