Matto
i have been feeding my living stonii and empress flake and spirulina granules and know they have long stringy poos i fed them blood worms the other day but other than that nothing unusual. do i need to get them some other food or something?
ryanjury
Edit, just read the title.. Generally if you are feeding your fish lots of good food their poo should be coloured.. Clear stringy poo can be a sign of internal parasites, I believe the bugs are eating the goodness out of the food inside the fish so only clear waste is passed but that is just my guess.. But alot of it can be diet related try feeding some cooked raw peas and see what happens.

smidey
clear stringy pooh is the beginning of bloat is it not?
ryanjury
It can be the start of bloat.. At the risk of starting up a massive discussion here that goes round and round from all the bloodworm lovers it might be the blooworms
smidey
it could be the blood worms, how often do you feed them those? i feed them that but only once per week.

ryanjury
I have treated bloat before just used metro in the tank, if the fish are still eating then soaking some food in some metro wouldn't hurt and is the easiest way to administer it. Matto
were can i get metro from and will it naturally pass of kill the fish?
Jennifer
As with any animal, sometimes intestinal upsets occur. If anything, just stop feeding for a couple of days, these cases often resolve on their own. If the signs persist, then go to the next step.
