kiwinanny
Hi Everyone. Not sure if this is the right section to put this question in but here goes.... I have discovered that one of my goldfish seems to have a stone stuck in its mouth. Its sitting on the bottom of the tank but will swim(with mouth shut). Any ideas how to get it out without killing the fish - Im rather attached to it, had it for over 5 years now. Thanks for any help.
MarkLB
Hi kiwinanny. Welcome to the forums. If it were me I think I'd catch the fish and try to remove the stone in a similar way to stripping fry from mouth brooding Cichlids. Have a look at this video..... kiwinanny
Thanks very much for the help. Just checked on the fish and the stone is out. Fish obviously 'coughed' it out by itself (probably didnt like being in a bucket by itself!)
Caryl
It may have gone through and out the other end too Goldfish are good at picking up stones and swallowing some. It is only a problem if it gets stuck somewhere :-?
