si_sphinx
Its ok to have one but anymore and they will be too aggressive when breeding or territorial towards each other

Close to mbuna, only 10,000 miles an ocean and two continents away from it.
smidey
Close to mbuna, only 10,000 miles an ocean and two continents away from it. you could at least be accurate when being unhelpful, from mexico to malawi it's 9316 miles (14993 km) (8096 nautical miles) 684 miles will add around an hour flying time. Mel
Hi, we have 3 big male convicts in our mixed african tank and they are totally fine - however if you were to put a female in there then I would say you'd have trouble. spoon
i have a breeding pair in my 5ft african tank when they breed they are agreesive but it only ends up being for about a week as most of the fry get eaten at night once free swimming they just take up half the tank and chase the other fish away if i think they are getting too much i just syphon most of the babies out or get a net and swish them around so the other fish eat them
ryanjury
People do keep them together, they do prefer different water conditions but both seem to adjust well either way, it would probably come down to tank size and individual temperaments of the fish involved. scrabble
Great thanks (even the inaccurate, unhelpful posts! ) I will keep trying to catch the female, she is causing problems but will just perservere.
