SamH
Be a little bit more specific perhaps? Do you mean African Lake Cichlids, South American Cichlids, Dwarf Cichlids, etc HTH
Navarre
Hi Puffer, LOL the general rule of thumb for these guys is the bigger the better remember that with ANY type of cichlid a large percentage of your tank will be taken with a backgrond of some sort if you are wanting the whole thing to look nice. So one way of working out what sort of fish you want and are suitable is to pick a tank size you can manage and afford and then work back from there. Some of us have "big" tanks and are always looking for more. Some have "smaller" tanks and are happy with that. Most people laugh when they are told that these guys are addictive and that once you have a tank you wil soon be looking for bigger faster stronger better but most people here will also nod and smile sagely as that is generally the case. ryanjury
I think you need to decide on a few species you like first or look around at what is for sale and what other people keep before a tank size can be recommended. I would say the bare minimum for a dem/yellow/peacock tank would be a 150L 3ft tank that is wide (not one of those tall ones) but a 4fter would be better. Generally a good start would be a good sized 4fter but if you can afford bigger then get it
