Dave+Amy
Can anyone tell me what does it mean if my fish are getting white lips then dying? Have so far lost 3 cories, 1 whiptail cat and a platy.. I've noticed they get white lips, then slow down and become unactive then usually dead by the morning. Other fish include 7 angels which are fine Thanks heaps
alanmin4304
Sounds like it would be columnaris. Treat with copper sulphate, acriflavine or antibiotics. The easiest antibiotic to obtain would be furan from your local pet shop. Caused by stress from poor conditions often. Clean tank and gravel and give water change before treating as per instructions. Dave+Amy
there is no gravel in the tank - the 3 Corys died the same night they were brought home then the following night I lost my whiptail and a platy..a 50% wc was done the morning before the Cories arrived, could it something else? it practically happened overnight
alanmin4304
It is a bit like whitespot. Nearly always there but comes out with stress and particularly livebearers and cats. It is bacterial and furan will cure most things---I would try it.
