jimboNZ
Hey all, I have been thinking about getting a reptile for a while and found that baby blue tongues seem to be the cheapest (on trademe) and easiest to care for after reading some info. Im thinking about what sort of enclosure I want to get but am not too sure, so looking for some suggestions? I've seen them kept in a large glass fish tank with a mesh lid thing but was thinking of maybe getting a professional setup like an exo terra enclosure. Also, blue tongues need a UV light but not a heating lamp? Are these UV lights readily available? Photos of some of your enclosures may help me out
jimboNZ
After reading the bearded dragon care sheet maybe one of them would be alright. Now I can't decide Any suggestions? lol

jimboNZ
Also, how long can you take them out to handle before having to put them back in for heat? Or are they quite hardy to stay out for 1-2 hours?
Insect Direct
i think exo terras biggest tank is 900mm. vetter off with something 1200mm + blue tongues are very easy care. When i had a group of babies as soon as i would open the tank door, they would be over to have a nosey then climb out up my arm. Very confident from a young age, they dnt seem to get fazed by much. i dont try tame my reptiles as i like to let them be a natural/wild as possible even if they're in an enclosure. beardies are neat but need more livefood and imo best to only handle when you need to. they can be a bit tempramental but otherwise fairly hardy most of the time.
