Aquatopia
Can Corydoras do OK in a rift lake aquarium or is it mean to them since they are from softer, more acidic water originally ? (Or as I suspect does it not matter since most are tank bred now) ?
ryanjury
They would probably adjust, but the last ones I saw with africans were missing eyes and had nipped fins so its probably not that nice on them.. I guess it also depends what africans you are planning on keeping?
Aquatopia
They will be in with 3cm marlieris and similar size dems and ast. brownae - but only for a while until the africans are a bit larger and too big to fit into a synodontis's gob, lol. But if you think those africans would harm the corys even at that size please let me know as I love corys too much to do that to them. I also thought they would be good vacuums while the tank load is building.
ryanjury
Yeah they might be ok only one way to find out though Do you already have the above mentioned fish?
Mel
Hmm yea I wouldn't recommend cories in with africans even juvies - I have done it and have had bad results they will survive with them but won't be happy - the african's like to nip and as ryan said eat eyes
phoenix44
I have brochis species in my tank (green catfish - look like cories but are not). I put them there cause I had to, initially they got nipped, but now are setting down. mind you they are larger than cories.
