Aquatopia
I have a standard 2foot tank set up for some baby africans I am getting and in it is a 100w heater. Its set to 26degrees and it seems like the damn think is on nearly all the time !! The ambient temp varies between 16 at night and maybe 22 during the day. I am wondering if there is anything wrong with it ? Your thoughts would be welcome.

Aquatopia
Yeh the temp seems constant - just concerned that the heater is on so much -
Morcs
A larger heater that is constantly on and off will wear out its bimetallic strip quicker causing it to get stuck on or off. A lower wattage heater that stays on more is much more healthy, less risk, and despite being on more, is probably using equal power over the course of a day to a larger wattage. hth
