Scottie841
Take the girl out once the they have finished and you can leave the boy in there for a few day after they are free swimming
N1CK
Yes, take the girl out once that have 'done the deed' and take the father out once they start to swim horizontal, this is also when you start to feed them HTH

Brett1970
Dont you think thats to early to use liquid fry when they havent even hatched yet lol
nycnlo
nope.. the liquid fry starts the infusioria production.. the fry dont feed off the liquid fry as such.. the micro bacteria eats the liquid fry and then the fry eat them

Discusguru
What fighters are you trying to get crossing a plakat with a CT? Looks like a waste of time and effort which could be better spent breeding pure bred fighters.
SamH
I beg to differ. CTPK's are very beautiful fish, provided that they are bred right. On a side note, shouldn't fish with less than 33% crowning be called combtails? I see fish with very little reduction in ray webbings being called Crowntails. Is that correct? nycnlo
i myself wont cross them anymore.. only breeding true lines .. and if i cant get pure breeders i wont breed them... ive got a couple nice ct males awaiting a pure ct female or two .... just havent found any i want yet lol mainly concentrating on halfmoons now anyhows but i guess its personal prefrence that i only want to breed pures they are easier to sell ,plus your not filling the nz market with fish with unknown lines, who knows at end of day most of the fish we see have to be started somewhere by crossing some varient / selective breeding process.. you never know what will come out of a spawn ive never been too much of a fan of pk fighters , ive had a couple of pairs.. one melano black and one pure white but i onsold them
SamH
With all the mongrel VTs (no offense to VTs or their fans) out there the market is already filled with unknown lines. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what the breeder wants to do. If s/he wants to breed VTs then that's up to them, but it takes the same amount of time, money and effort to breed nice looking fish than to breed ugly ones. Raising 100 VT fry will be the same as raising 100 HM fry, except the latter is nicer to look at and sells for much more. I myself haven't bred fighters yet but the ones I plan to spawn (when I get rid of those cursed platies, PM me for free platies) will be from what looks to be good delta/super delta lines.
