petermc
Tank is currently 1000mm long,700mm high and 600mm front to back. I have just re housed my angel fish as they were getting abit aggresive and want to get some more fish to take there place. Current tank mates are 1 elephantnose (20cm) ,1 gold nugget pleco(small), 3 clown loaches(6cm ish) 10 colombian tetra, 1 gold severum(medium size, very placid/friendly) and 4 small albino catfish. I am looking at upgrading to a larger tank(5 foot) as clowns etc get bigger. At this stage i just want to look at some options to take the angels place....pieceful fish...but interesting and active. Im thinking a couple more feature fish as opposed to a schooling fish. What ideas you all got? Thanks for any advice in advance Pete
Guest
I don't know how they'd get on with the severum or elephantnose but Dwarf Cockatoos are a peaceful colourful fish.
firenzenz
Electric Blue Dempsey's wouldn't bother anything in there, and would look great colur option with what you got.
petermc
Thanks for the replies. I googled both the fish you suggested and like what a saw and read on the electric blue dempseys. How many would you all suggest buying? Do they do better alone or as a pair or group? Dont want my severum getting picked on again...the angels gave him a run around. Thanks again!
firenzenz
One or two of the blues would be perfect. I keep two with some plecs on bottom, a few angelicus loaches and 11 Colombian tetras. Even had some Sajica juvi's in there at 2cm and blues didn't even consider them. They are nothing like their Jack Dempsey cousins in terms of aggression.
petermc
Great Sorted then. So if i go for two of them could i consider a green severum also to go with the gold severum i already have? That will give me green, yellow and blue colours going on. Will another severum be okay with my golden or be trouble? Thanks heaps!

Nymox
I got 34ltr tank, 1 male fighter getting him a girl friend this week if I can. 3 albino cory, all very small fish and Ill be getting a much bigger tank in 3 weeks. I just feel theres something still lacking in there, if i still have room for something else in the community what would be a good friendly fish for these guys. I like schoolers but obviously my tank limits that. I love bolivian rams.
