Guest
I was wondering how many fry Cockatoos usually have? The other day I found my female was gaurding wrigglers again (didn't even see the eggs this time). So I took most of their fry as they usually disappear before they reach free swimming stage but I left the female with a few fry so she'd stay that nice yellow colour. Anyway it turned out I'd left them 40+ fry and she was gaurding them well and then last night they were free swimming and today she took them outside to eat some food and was bringing them back to the cave everytime I got too close to the tank so I decided to put her other fry back in the tank with her and it turned out I put 142 fry back into the tank with them plus her original ones . I thought they only had 30-40 babies at a time. How many do they usually have?

Guest
Hopefully they don't eat them before tomorrow so you'll be able to see them but I think they're disappering already as I can only see a group of 60 and thats getting smaller :-? MarkLB
Congrats on the spawning.....WOW That's a lot of fry, well done Like you, I thought it was around 40, that's about what mine produced the last time I bred them deliberately. Mine spawned today :bounce: but in the Community tank so I won't get anything unless I intervene.
