repto Posted June 19, 2009 Report Share Posted June 19, 2009 Food Medium 1: Mix bran and honey in a heated sauce pan. Add enough bran to make it stiff. Spread it on a cookie sheet till it cools. Crumble it up and place on the bottom of your container. Freeze any extra for later use. Food Medium 2: Mix seven parts crumbled dry dog food with one part water and two parts honey. This medium should gut load your wax worms. Spread on cookie sheet to dry until no longer sticky – usually 24 hours. Freezee any extra. Varanophile Posted June 21, 2009 Report Share Posted June 21, 2009 4 oz. glycerin 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup hot water 1 box (8 oz.) baby cereal (oat) Dissolve the glycerin and sugar in hot water. Cool the solution. Pour the whole box of cereal into a large bowl. Pour the solution in a very thin stream into the cereal while stirring enthusiastically—it should take about 2 minutes to dribble all of the liquid if you are pouring slowly enough. The medium will be somewhere between sticky, lumpy, and crumbly, and it will smell very pleasant. Store it in a plastic bag. I also add 2 tablespoons or so of brewers ( NOT active yeast) yeast, it seems to stop mould from attacking the culture.
