JazzyJeff
Just wondering if there is a special type of tank designed to house 2- 4 fighters at the same time? I would really like one tank with some sort of divisions in it to break it into 2 or 4 areas - but only using one filter and one heater... Is there such a thing? I like the fighters but don't want to maintain multiple tanks. I currently have small 2 tanks with guppies in one and a fighter in the other. I am thinking if I could find a tanks with divisions then I could turn my smallest tank into a Quarantine tank. Any suggestions out there? fishbreeder
why not go to you LFS and ask them if they have a tank with partitions or if they can get one made up, you can get them made and have the partitions siliconed in to it and leave a TINY gap at the bottom for water flow and have the heater and filter in the middle "tank". im getting one of these for my males, i have 6 of them. if you have an idea in mind, ask ur local glass people how much to make a custom tank for you. SamH
Try this post: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=38219 May come in handy, but it's a bit more Betta specific. You can buy tank dividers at most good fish shops and some petshops. They're just plastic frames that stick or hook onto your tank on the inside and have a plastic/mesh in the middle, stops the fish from getting at each other. There's also ready made units with a built in heating and filtration system but those are a bit more costly. You could try get one custom made and that should be cheaper. Good luck. Thanks SamH - I hadn't seen that one! I'm more thinking of more perm homing for them not just breeding - I had envisioned a bigger tanks with decent sized areas - Might talk to a glass person and see what they can come up with. Scottie841
I made this one from: 900mm tank - $40 on TM frosted glass from 3 part shower door - $10 from recycling centre (stripped and cut glass to fit) canister filter - $60 on TM irrigation pipe and spray nozzles - $20 form Mitre10 and a heater that was found in a box - I think $30 for LFS The water flows through the filter in to the black pipe where it is then split out to the front of the tank and dripped in. All the water goes out a small hole in the bottom (back) of each section and then in to a holding section along the back where the heater and and air stone is. There very little current because the water comes out a 3 mm hole in each section note: the big black pipe is going to be replaced by a 13mm black irrigation pipe so it is not visible
