So i put mine in the corner of my tank in the shade of the taller plants. But my only concern is, being so close to the heater will it burn? or die? Ira Posted April 27, 2009 Report Share Posted April 27, 2009 Unless the area is completely stagnant the surface of the heater probably won't even get hot. The water around it even less so. Next time your tank heater is on stick your hand in the water and grab it. I've done it with my heaters.
