petermc
Am running in my 450L community tank..once tank is fully stocked will this be enough? Alot of you all i see are running two filters in tanks this size? If not enough would it be more beneficial to run another 405 or wait for the animates 50% off and upgrade to the fx5? Ideas? Thanks! suphew
If you don't mind the cost two filters is always better than one. You can't over filter, plus it give's you redundancy, a pre-cycled filter if you have to setup a new tank in a hurry, you can clean one filter at a time without worrying about killing off all your bacterial filtration and causing a new cycle. R32GOTMLK
isnt a 405 rated of 400L? 2 405s woud be good and a fx5 would be good too lol
phoenix44
they are rated upto 400L so I'd get another one too, or an FX5, lol. more filtration is always better, and your fish will thank you for it how many, and what sort of fish were you going to have in the tank? ryanjury
If the filter is doing its job (ie converting the amount of ammonia your fish are producing into nitrates and removing any crud floating around the tank) then you don't NEED a new another one. Another one is always good as it is a back up in case of a filter failure or to remove more crud floating around, but it wont mean you can get away with any less water changes or anything like that because you fish will still be producing the same amount of waste and each filter will just be processing half of it each. All depends on what you want to do and how much money you have, if it is working I wouldn't waste my money on a different one but that's just how I think
