JarrenB
Sadly today when I turned the tank light on I found that 1 of my 5 new danios had died, The rest look healthy but I noticed this one had a funny body shape rather than being strait he had a lump just behind his head and a sucked in bit underneath. Was he a “runt” or is this a health problem as I said above the rest look fine and are swimming around like darts, this one always looked to be slower than the rest often stopping and sitting on the bottom. (He was the first that the pet store lady caught) Please Note: I don’t know if it was a he or a she.
Caper
Sorry for your loss! Sounds like he may have had been ill when purchased. Personally I don't always find it easy to see them when they are in a bag to check out any obvious signs that something is not right. I don't know what might have been wrong with him/her but someone else here might recognize the "issues" it had. Within the last week I lost a peppered cory and a tiger barb, no indications of anything wrong until they were dead, darn! Caper
Mr McFish
There seems to be a few danios like that it could be old age or I think it could be scoliosis which they devalop sometimes as fry which can lead to deforming of the spine I had the same problem with a neon. Just keep an eye out for it as the others may gang up on it.
